Anchor;
Good evening around half a million people across the uk have walked out recently due to not enough satisfaction with their pay because its not keeping up with global inflation.They are waiting for a negotiation that will satisfy them,i will now pass over to ---- who will explain more.

Main story:
Now tonight we will be covering a major story at the minute, strikes.Thousand of people across the uk have been walking out due to very little pay.They will be continuing to do this until a reasonable negotiation has been made.Parents are having to take more time of work as they cant find or afford child care due to inflation. Students doing there GCSEs and other students doing big exams are going to be falling behind due to missing days of school and not being provided work to revise from.These strikes are slowly becoming a major problem across the uk and until there pay gets increased no one knows how long this will last. We have now a teacher at this school to explain a bit further.

Interview

Now tonight we will be covering a major story at the minute, strikes.Thousand of people across the uk have been walking out due to very little pay.They will be continuing to do this until a reasonable negotiation has been made. From doctors and nurses, to rail staff, postal workers and teachers - these public service workers are not happy.

Teacher strikes, in particular, have caused a lot of upset. So far, we have had 4 strike days for teachers, with two more to come. Parents are having to take more time of work as they cant find or afford child care due to inflation. Students doing there GCSEs and other students doing big exams are going to be falling behind due to missing days of school and not being provided work to revise from.These strikes are slowly becoming a major problem across the uk and until there pay gets increased no one knows how long this will last.

The government put in an offer before Easter, but teachers across the nation voted against it  so now theres is going to be more strikes across until they can agree on a reasonable negotiation.

We spoke to one of the Union representatives, Mrs Boyd,  in our school to find out more..

Questions:

Why are teachers striking?
why did teachers decline the recent government offer?
How long do you reckon the strikes will go on for?
What would make teachers stop the action?
